Hi there,

I've been asked to add the ability to hide/unhide posts and topics, and lock/unlock topics to a group of users (this group are called "hosts"). Moderators have all the normal webwiz moderator controls, but we need for the forum hosts to be able to hide or lock topics.

So I can easily modify code so members of "hosts" can lock topics. In forum_posts.asp around line 767 I re-use the code that starts

    'Modertor Tools
If blnAdmin OR blnModerator OR intGroupID = 10 Then
    ...
    end if

The bit in blue I inserted, intGroupID =10 is the "hosts" group. So this shows the Moderator options controls with Lock/Unlock/Hide/Unhide. Then I also have to edit lock_topic.asp (line 113) and hide_post.asp (line 107) to make sure they have permission to lock/hide.

My problem is that if a topic or post is hidden, the "hosts" group users cannot see the hidden topic or post (moderators and administrators can - the background of the message is greyed out and watermarked with "Awaiting Approval")
.

Can anyone point me to where I fix this please. I just can't figure that part out.

Thanks...
Dan

is that not done in the admin side when you create the forum? where you can check hide if no access??

then you give the group called hosts access to that particular forum? and moderator permissions can also be set for that group in that forum, im prob way off here so sorry if i have not helped one iota!
