LOL ive been doing this for .... well as long as i can remember

Unhappy though when i first make a site it has to be static or it'll be "copyright 2006-2006"

so i gotta wait a year before i add my dynamic copyright

i dont tend to have a "copyright.asp" file, i tend to use "footer.asp"

well you could just do:

<%
if year = year(date) then
response.write © & " " & year
else
response.write © & " " & year & "-" & year(date)
end if
%>

It is kinda pointless to do this at all. If you created a page say in 2000 and it says &copy 2000 it remains copyrighted for your life + 70 years. So if you make it another 30 it'll be good to the year 2100 even though it still says 2000. Now that is fact when you register it but from what I recall as long as there is no lawsuit there is little difference between registered and non-registered copyrights.

methinks we won't still be using the same webpage copyright script in 70 years time.... and that assumes we die right............... now! discussing the longterm (decades) validity of a script in a language that'll no longer be supported in 5 (or less) is rather pointless...
