I need to put up a blogging app on an asp site. Any recommendations?

I think you can use blogger.com to put a blog on your own site.

I've installed blogger.com and Moveable Type blogs before but neither fit my need for this client. He's just knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. Wink

Blogger.com's stuff is a fast install, but a lot of links take you back to their site. Kind of ruins the illusion. Phones Home a lot. Your blogs wind up sitting on their db's too. Their templates are easy to mod though.

I prefer Moveable Type. t's on your own db. It takes longer to set it up but has more features and available plugins than blogger's app. Their out-of-the-box plugins provide better spam control as well. Templates are tougher than blogger.com's.

The problem with MT is that it's too easy to add more plugins. At my host,  .cgi extensions don't run well under windows. I can usually get around it my renaming them as .pl's but some plugins come with the same filename using both extensions - e.g. x.cgi and x.pl. Which means someone (me) has to go into the packages code and change things. HUsually have to change paths to libs as well. I can see this guy trying to install 50 plugins and wearing out his phone dialing me.

I like the WWF Journal app as a light blog but it's a little long in the tooth and missing a couple of what are now standard blog features like pings, link management, etc. One of the guys where Dave and I both host was working on an asp blogger that seemed like it fit nicely in the niche but I think he set it down for a while. Haven't really seen any other asp blogs that looked like they were anything other than an afterthought.

EDIT: P.S Dave, I really like that SOKY Net Laurel wreath on your site.
