Hi, i want to let people download a program of my website, but i also want to count how many times that the program has been downloaded.

 

any help would be great!
If anything takes long to do its worth doing.

A simple way would be to direct the dowload link to something like
download.asp?app=applicationname.exe
Then you do an update or insert depending how your db is structured, once that is completed to a Server.Transfer("apppath/" & Request.QueryString("app"))

Same would work with repsonse.redirect, whatever makes you happy.

These set of sxripts will allow you to keep track of how many times something from your site has been downloaded, and then allow you to spit the data back out onto your site (so you can show people how many times it's been taken).
