IIS 5.0 setting up SMTP

Ive curently set up iis on my home pc and have it running one of my websites, im now looking to configure smtp, so that i can retrieve emails.

Im currenlty trying  using Outlook xp(on win xp) to conect to iis  and i then click "test account settings" it finds smtp server, pop 3 server and sends a test email but i cant log on to the pop3 account...

anyone know what ive done wrong/ or what i need to do, or even know a website with all this valuable information on?

First off, i wouldn't use IIS's smtp server. there are plenty of free smtp server software progs out there that are much easier to deal with.

Ok i found a free one (www.postcastserver.com),

BAckground:-( i have set up a web server www.creativehosts.co.uk running on my pc the domain is registerd with 123reg.co.uk)

Another question i have is that i can send email (from eudora and outlook from a @creativehosts.co.uk) but if i try to reply to that email (from hotmail) i dont recieve it, i think i have changed the mx records correctly ie mx0.creativehosts.co.uk.

 

is their anything that i have missed?
