Random record & date function?

I have a news page (news.asp) which displays ALL the records from a news db table (tblNews) which is fine. But what I want to do is display ONE random record (news item) from tblNews on my home page (default.asp) and this news item must change once daily (I'm guessing I need to use some sort of date function here?).

Any ideas anyone?, I'm using SQL server and I assume IIS is running on the server.

Any help would be much appreciated.
