How do I prevent a user from going back to the previous page by pressing the BACK browser button after he has logged out?  The idea is, if he logged out and tried to press the back button, he'll be redirected to the login screen.

Any idea?

Don't allow guests to browse the forum and everyone who is not logged in will be forced to register and/or log in.

Tried both methods but I can still get the previous page. I suppose I'll just have to try another method.. like disabling the menu bar and context menu.

Thanks guys.

That's because the browser it loading the page from cache. There really isn't a way to force a reload. As long as you are checking for the login on pages that need the login being able to back into a page shouldn't be too much of a problem as they should not be able to access anything when they finally hit a page that is not cached and/or reload a page.
