something about retrieving stock quotes from yahoo. It seems so simple but everything I can find requires a componant. All I want to do is send a ticker symbol and return the latest price on an asp page and store it. Seems like it should be easier than what I am seeing. Anyone have experince with this sort of thing?
Any help would be appreciated.

First you need to find a free service that can return the stock information if you post something to it... do you know of any?

yahoo provides a free service. Much of the work I have seen using components use this service. I was just looking for a much more basic way of doing it. I do not need a symbol look up or fields for people to type information in.
