Topic: Use MySQL? Posted: 11 February 2006 at 6:45pm |
I guess when it comes to databases, I'm not the biggest geek on the block but i really try to be. Can someone please tell me does WWF work with MySQL? I thought it did earlier but got closer to installing it and realized it offers a MS SQL version as well as a access but no MySQL version. I'm pretty sure there is a way for this but can someone please help me to get on the right start??
thanks,
Jonathan

Well the right start would have been to search :) It has been discussed plenty of times.
WWF 7.x does not come in mySQL, 8.x currently in beta does.

At the present time, I hoping to have beta 2 out at the end of this month, with a release candidate version not long after.
The expected release date of the full version will hopfully be in early spring, around April time.
However, if any issues come up, or if things get finshed faster than expected, these dates may change.

I would hope so but if they make any significant changes to the schema, maybe not. Depends on how much support they offer for any significant changes.

Version 8 beta 1 is for testing purposes only and should not be used on a live web server.
There are known issues with version 8, and the mySQL version does have a large number of known issues.
As the beta version is for testing only, there will not be an upgrade tool between the beta version and the final version.
