Topic: Upgrading from beta 3 to final Posted: 12 March 2003 at 8:05am |
I'm considering moving my forum that is now using 6.34 to verison 7 beta 3. I plan on using the migration tool that is available on this site to move my users and posts. What I'm wondering is how difficult will it be to move from this beta to the final version when it is released. At this time, I'm using the access 2002 and do like some of the new features that are available with 7.
I may move to the sql version in the future, but that's for another day.

The next beta version does include quite a number of database changes, including new fields, new tables, etc. So unless you know databases reasonably well upgrading between beta versions maybe a little difficult.

I had the problem of not only did my admin. password change, the account did not exist anywhere. I had to login as the default admin, and then recreate my own "personal" admin. account.

Thanks for the response. With that in mind, I think I'll wait for final code rather than mess around at this time.

Aaaah this has answered a question that's been plaguing me for ages... Looks like I'll just wait for the final then!
