MS Access - Adequate??

I'm very new to the board, so forgive me if this has long since been asked and answered...

But, any advice on the adequacy of MS Access as the backend for a simple web-based event calendar?  It's for a small community - I don't anticipated more than 100 events listed at any one time, and I don't think there would ever be more than 10 or 20 (max) concurrent users.

I've read some stuff recommending that SQL or mySQL being the backend for ANY web-based app, but I don't have the expertise or the resources to go that route.
