I have a potential client who uses MS Publisher to create newsletters. He wants to be able to send the newsletters to members each month via email. I have not really used MS Publisher. I am thinking about building a web application where he would be able to send the newsletter to a list of people. He doesn't want the newsletter to be attached to the email. The newsletter needs to be in the body of the email. It will need to be in HTML format. Does anyone know how I can have a newsletter in MS Publisher in the body of an email?

Surely Publisher has a save as HTML function that will allow your client to export his Publisher file as HTML. Otherwise, maybe Word can open the p;ublisher document and save it as HTML.

save publisher file as RTF and then HTM .. this way it will remove al MS office specfic HTML and MSO so the page will be displayed corrected in browsers as many browsers dont support MSO and MS OFfcie HTML document comments

However, now that you've got an HTML file, you've still got to convert it to the email version of HTML, which is not the same. The problem happens when you want to embed images or objects.

How do you plan to send the email? Regular client? Bulk mailer? Custom mailer? That's the tricky part.

I'd suggest getting the HTML into a GOOD bulk mailer and then going through and attaching all the images again to make sure they are properly embedded. Then send yourself a test to check. Use a regular client and a web based email account. You may also wish to check with a text client like Pine or Elm. (Most good mailers give you an option to also have a text only version - which is a part of the email RFC.)

Good luck

I am thinking about the possibility of using the Web Wiz Rich Text Editor that Bruce developed.  I wonder if it would be possible for me to copy and paste a publisher document to the Rich text editor. I wonder if I can make it to work to send a html email to subscribers. Does anyone know if this is possible?
