There are a few bugs on the Registration Confirmation page (register_confirm.asp) and with Email sending from that page -

  • The line (If you have a problem activating your membership please contact the Forum Administrator.), does not put the email in the link, it's just mailto:.
  • I've had a few times where I get a strange error with the email sending routine which gives an ASP error and does not send the email , if you restart IIS it works again. (If I see it again i'll post it here)
  • Mainly cosmetic but it could be made more clear that they need to Activate there membership, the line "Return to the Discussion Forum" could do with being below all the other text or maybe a one of those popup okay boxes you've started using all over the place :).

My setup is -

  • Windows 2003 server
  • SQL 2000
  • CDOSYS for email
  • 7 Beta 3 of WWG

BTW I love all of the new stuff since v6.x especially the permissions and polls, well done, good stuff. Now as my users keep saying all we need is a spell checker (or is that just me :) ).

About forum Spell Checker: This forum can't be everything.

It's your problem if you can't spell, should have at least learned that in High School. If you still have spelling problems use MS Word or an online spell checker. This forum is not a Swiss army knife.

Next thing people will want is a whole word processor, financial manager, calendar, and maybe if Borg has time a full Web Wiz Guide Operating System built into the forum.

Actually -borg- metioned before he's working on a spell checker and that he might release it as a MOD with a backend access db as dictionary cuz it slows the forum down too much...
