What do you think it's the best way to insert data into a database? (the most optimised way) Just do it with open a connection and do the insert sql? Or via a recordset (insert sql in a recordset and then update)?

regardless of which way you do, unless your site is super duper high traffic, you aren't going to notice a difference in performance

as for personal preference, i like to use embedded SQL ("INSERT statement") or a Stored Procedure to do an insert.... kinda gives me practice using/learning SQL instead of depending 100% on ASP methods
