New York City baby..

Its Saturday afternoon (2.54pm uk time) and im working, yeap working on a saturday, its been a while but im stuck in the office with 2 other people, sorting out our backup,

well im off to New York for me 21st bday, fly out on the 25th october, (my bday is on the 27th)
just wandering if anyone lived in New York or who had been there who could recommened some cool places to go, bars, clubs, things to do, places to see, places to eat etc, and whats the tax rate in nyc? if anyone knows? would it be better to shop in New Jersey as i have heard its cheap on clothes and that kinda thing..
