Just went back there, and the site seems normal now. As Steve noted, I was thinking about different drivers rather than different paths in the connection string - odbc instead of dsn-less, , the 2002 driver, etc.

In addition to checking the mods, you might want to ensure that your web host is running at least MDAC 2.6.

If it's running slow at times then this is due more to an overloaded server as the server runs low on resources your forum will run slower and slower till it times out.

Try changing host or opting for a better hosting plan on a less populated server.

Well guys, i just installed a /forum2 with basic features and original Database and the speed is about the same...
So, its the server that is holding the perfomance back really....
