cant get aspSmartUpload to work

Can anyone help with aspSmartUpload component thing?

I just register the dll thru DOS prompt and follow all the instructions and put the files in the wwwroot folder.

When I attach the files, the WWF just hang there and it say busy and it totally crash.

Any help on what I did wrong?

If you turn off friendly HTTP error messages, what is the error message you get?

You also need to copy a certain DLL to the Windows/System32 directory too!

Yes, I have turn off the HTTP error message.  When I click on the upload button, it tell me to browse to what file I want to upload, then it just sit there forever.  After that my forum just hang forever.

I didnt see any error message.

Here is what I have done:

1. I have turn off the friendly error message.

2. I have successfully done the REGSVR32.EXE aspSmartUpload.dll

3. I have copy aspSmartUploadUtil.dll in the c:\WINDOWS\system32 directory.

4. I have put "aspSmartUpload" directory in the c: drive

\inetpub
\inetpub\scripts\aspSmartUpload
\inetpub\wwwroot\aspSmartUpload

5. My forum is hosted in d:\forum\ using the virtual directory that is in the IIS.

I have reboot and go to my forum and when I upload a file, it just hang there forever.

What did I do wrong?

Trying to make a peice of software that works on every type of windows OS and every type of setup is almost immpossiable.

This means that there will always be something that won't work on setones systems.

It looks like your system is one of those when it comes to uploading with the forum using aspSmartUpload.

As you have access to the server try intsalling one of the other supported upload components.

Dundas and AspUpload I find are both better for uploading files.
