I think they had to support it due to OpenOffice.org.  Did you know that the original reason I downloaded OpenOffice.org was so that I could turn a Word document into a PDF document?  Now I use OpenOffice.org on half my computers that don't already have Microsoft Office.

ok guys this a fun project i plan to do at home sometime this week..

the goal is to setup a windows XP pc using only freeware software. And it should satisfy my demands.. and i tell ya i use a lot of apps... isnt there any freeware VM apps.. i think the VMWare was gonna make it free.. time to check out their site..now..

The State of Massachusetts in the US was making PDF their official document format. Any software had to be capable of producing pdf's or it would be replaced (with open office ?). MS could smell a trend.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

i wish they had a pdf collaboration server wich allowed full text indexing and searching of pdf files..
