Thats a problem with the receivers SMTP server rejecting the email and bouncing it back to yourself, I get dozens of them for various reasons from what you mention above to simple things like there are already to many emails in the users mail box.

This is not really a bug with the forum, you need to contact the user and get them to change there SMTP server settings to allow messages with over 1024 characters in it.

I will look in the RFC and ask my ISP.

I think the mail routine shout break long lines in parts of max 1023 char.

Hi Borg Read this

http://rfc.net/rfc821.html#p42

text line

The maximum total length of a text line including the
<CRLF> is 1000 characters (but not counting the leading
               dot duplicated for transparency).

The line length should be handled by the mail component, try another mail component.
