problem with batch delete topics

	my forum is 10 years old and it has 700,000 posts and the database(MS-SQL) is 1.4GB now. I am starting to batch delete topics to save space and improve speed. But whenever I delete over 10,000 posts, it gets timeout error. Is there another way to get around it?

	Deleting this many posts will always place allot of strain on the server. You would need to delete in smaller batches. You also need to use SQL Server Management Studio to shrink your database once you have finished deleting posts so that the database size is truncated.
