Arabic is generally written without vowels or other graphic symbols that indicate how a word is pronounced, hence making arabic search & retrieval quite challenging While searching on one of my sites thru entering a keyword in Arabic, the Subscribers are facing the problems due to common Arabic morphology and grammar, though the information pertaining to that particular keyword already exist within the data of the site, (the DB is MSSQL Server, pages in ASP). hence I'm looking for a solution that would facilitate me with search features like Root search, derivative and stem search , the problem is bigger than the common Arabic mistakes "أ ا إ آ" (alif, alif Maqsoora, waaw, yaa) & " ة ه" (Haa & taa' Marbuta), the problem is common with other few languages like Hebrew, Persian, Pashto & Urdu. I'l greatly appreciate if someone can provide me with some SDK or Code snippet in achieving the desired result for the above mentioned problem..

Thanks & Regards

< ="text/"> I don't think you will find something. Any ASP script will search for either an exact match or an approximative one, depending whether you are using double quotes for an exact match, or %% for an approximative. Any script, for that matter, can not "read" the content, nor understand it. It just looks for the appropriate succesion of characters, whatever the language...
I think, setting up the appropriate charset might help, at least for Romanian does, as it too use special characters and has major differences, for instance between singular an plural...
