Hello everyone, does anyone know of a good "user management" system that prevents the user from downloading video/audio files especially files with extension .wmv prior to registeration. I have seen many registeration system that protect the HTML pages but the user can still get the file without having to login.
I mean the user can right-click on a file then get the URL ((file.wmv)) and can download it without having to login. I need a system that masks the real URL of the file... instead of showing the file.wmv it should show file=id etc..
I really need help on this, and I would highly appreciate it.

You can create a streaming media server, using asx extensions as launch files. If you don't have any power of the server itself (install app wise) you need get more creative, and have the files be of a different extension likle .asp or aspx for .net, changing the outputtype on runtime after checking permissions, the wmv files then can be non-http accessible. VERY easy to do in asp.net
