I read the Developement Blog whenever you post something and the changes you mention sound great! So when do we get to test the new features?

I would love to see the new search feature (where it shows the post not just topic) and the other improvements.

I want to do a few more finshing touches, but I hope to have a beta version for you to all test the new forum engine in the begining of January.

While the beta version is being tested I plan on adding new features and also run a competition for people to design a new skin using the new CSS in version 8. Just trying to think of a prize at the moment.
