if a member forgot a password and require it. how could to retrieve it
i am a modreator and could not find a way to retrieve the password for the member

hi,

is this for the forum?

if so you can only change the password, as the password is encrypted and unable ot be put back into its orginal form.

thank yo , actually one of themembers lost his password and is requesting to send it to him. how I retrieve it as i am administrator

From the login page he can request that a new password be sent to him. The system will generate a temporary one and email it to him.

After he logs in with the temporary one, he can change it to whatever he wants.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

If the mail component was not setup correctly  the 'forget password' page will not show up at the login page.  However you may login as administrator and go to that member's profile then edit profile and type in a new password and submit it then send it to your member manually using your own email.

You need to contact your hosting provider and ask them what type of a mail component they offer in the hosting package you got, an example of mail component is JMail or ASPEmail, once you have that information you can login as admin and then configure it from the Email Configuration Setup in your forum control panel.
