Hi

I am currently trying to access my webfiles in the applications section of my 1&1 hosting account. 

When I try to enter it it asks for a Hosting XP username and pasword.  I have tried numerous usernames and passwords but they dont work.

I have contacted 1&1 but their response is being a bit slow.  I need to access the webfiles so I can set the permissions so my webwiz forum will work.

Does anyone who has a 1&1 account know what username and password to use.

Easy answer, you need to use YOUR username and password, I know I am sorry that does not help you but if you don't know which one, check your emails when you signed up, if they do not work, well you have to wait or call 1&1 or better yet change hosts because they suck.

I agree that 1&1 sucks, and their tech support is so stupid. The only thing I liked was that they sent me a copy of FrontPage 2003 LOL for signing up to a hosting account with them, i'm not sure if that offer is still existing. I have the business hosting plan.
 
Anyways, I have always used my domain name, like mydomain.com and my password to login to the control panel. If your trying to access FTP you'd have to disable the front page extensions under domain in the control panel and wait approximately 10-15 minutes and login to FTP, you'd use the same username/password that you were assigned to access front page.
