I have a big problem.

 

My new post notification is going to every member. Even if I post a new topic every one gets an E-Mail. It started happening immediately after sending out a mass E-Mail to all my members telling them that I have upgraded the forums.

 

The only way I could stop it from sending out E-Mails is by shutting down E-Mail notification all together.

ok I think I figerd it out but I don't know how to fix it.

every time someone posts in a topic with E-Mail turned on it posts in to the database that they want to keep up with the topic. but it keeps adding the same user id and topic id. when you try to unsubscribe it only takes out one entry insted of all of them. So a user has to keep hiting unsubscribe inorder to stop geting E-Mails.

How do I fix this.

There has got to be a fix for this.

If not is there anyway to down grade the forum back to 6.34

Change line 1039 of the post_message.asp file to the following:-

ElseIf (((strMode = "new" OR strMode = "reply") OR (strMode = "edit" AND .EOF)) AND blnEmailNotify = True) AND .EOF Then

This way a user will only ever be entered once into the table for notification on that topic.

When a user shuts off E-Mail notify in there profile they keep getting notified for all the forums they have posted in. Do they really have to unsubscribe from each one.

It does explain what this is for, basically it just means that the email notify me of replies checkbox is checked by default. I did it this way as all major forums like phpBB, invasion, etc. worked in this way.
