Anyone know how to request using pure ASP, details on an mp3 file on the server?  Im mainly looking for bitrate and/or song length.

I opened an mp3 with nopedad and can see the song title and other stuff on plain text so you might be able to get that info but I'm not sure about bitrate and song lenght... Also the ASP response object has a limitation of 100kb of data so that might also be a problem as most mp3 files are larger than that...

Bull, thanks but im after the length of the mp3 track and/or bitrate. I already have file size, all I now need is at least file length then I can work out bitrate.

Haven't used this, but it says that it works with ColdFusion and does what you are talking about. http://www.intrafoundation.com/cfx_audioinfo.asp

That's EXACTLY what you want - ID3 tags. Doesn't have everything, but you can get more information from that as a base.
