Hello all.. I have been poking around in here and am very intimidated with all your knowledge.. I am not skilled with this stuff at all, just really a trial and error person.

I have done VERY well so far, making the changes that I want.  I created header info, and actually got it up there.. BUT.. I need the forum scooted down.

You can see what I mean ~ I know I am not using the correct terms.. sorry bout that.

Hope you all don't mind trying to teach this newbie how to do all the cool stuff you have all done.  I have seen so many great skins and the new menu bar, but think that is down the line for me really.

Thank you all for your help.

This problem is easily fixed. Find the include header.asp and put the html for the banner in there.

Thanks for your reply!  I did figure out how to get the banner in the ASP but since I am not using a whole banner, I guess it's not kicking the forum down.

I even tried using a blank white box underneath, as a logo, but that just shoved all the icons off the screen..

Here is a link to my page, http://www.chubbuddies.com/forum/  as you can see, the icons are missing.. :(    they are not being kicked down by the header.

Do I need to tell the forum where to start?  I really am trying here.. and gosh, I have learned so much already. I even learned that I need a program to give me HTML as I am using different programs right now just to create the code.  I know I am doing it 100 times harder then needs be, but without the proper tools, I am stuck.

Thanks much.. I hope there is an easy fix for this.

OH.. the reason the header isn't really a header, is because they need to be links.  like the link in the header to myrx, and the home & forum links..

thanks again.

If you remove the absolute positioning that would eliminate the problem. The absolute position is instructing the browser to overlay your header over the rendered page.

OH.. Oh.. I think your on to it now.. ok.. so where do I find the "absolute positioning" ?  is that in the ASP for the header?

Sorry for the dorky questions.  I bet you ol' pros just laugh at my silly questions.. but hey.. keep up the training, and pretty soon, I'll be as knowledgeable as you all!

Well.. in my normal fashion, I went to the script (is that what it's called?) anyway.. I took out all the "absolute values".. and whew.. those jpegs just all lined up down the side.. so I started adding them back in, one by one, till I figured out what ones could have it.. and needed it, and what one was making the problem.

As it turns out, it's the blue box under the logos that can't have the absolute value..But without it, it's kicking it down.  I did go change the value to 0 px, but it's still doing it.

I think we are almost there though, aren't we??

I did it, I did it, I did it!!   Man.. give me a toy, and I'll keep myself busy for hours!!  This stuff is GREAT you guys.

Ok.. since I couldn't get the blue box to move up, HA.. I moved every thing down a bit!

Oh... isn't it nice when you impress yourself.

Now, I think I am set, at least you can see the links!  I can always tweak things later and make it better, but for now, it's time to work on the index page!  Thanks so much for letting me come here and learn from you guys.  Don't forget to speak english for me sometimes..
