    Posted: 11 June 2003 at 2:49am

Hi,

i downloaded the discussoin forum of WEb Wiz and it is brilliant.

i have done many customization to the application to suit my needs.

I would like to know how could i assign a group of members or indivduals to a private forum using the admin section ?

Do i make them as moderators for the specific forum or there is better way ?

If i do it in this way , thier names will appear as moderators and i don't want their names to appear. I just want them to be able to access the specefic forum for add and replaying to a topic.

Regards

Salwa

you can do that under membership permissions in admin, and they will not be added as moderators that way because you can leave the box unchecked.

am not sure exactly but i think you...

would either go to "Permissons" in the admin and add the people 1 by 1

(or)

could create a group lets say "Secert Group" (dunno couldnt think of anyfin better )

and then add this group to the Secert Forum's Permissions

then go to the profile of the members you would like to have access the forum then change there "Group" to the "Secert Group"

please note that if you created a "Group" called "Secert Group"

when ever a user in this group made a post in a public forum, it would say that they we're part of a "Secert Group" which i doubt you want

Thanks pam b & Scotty_32 for your quick support. You both suprized me

I have done what you both said , however it will add them as moderator of the private forum either as individual or group.

I don't want them to be a moderateor of the forum and i don't want their names to apear as moderator because this is confusing.

what can i do ?

Regards

Salwa

if you use the individual members permissions forum and add each one individually just leave the moderator box unchecked this will enable them to access the forum but not mod it and they wont be added to the moderators list.
