Hi

Is there a way to setup a hierarchy with forums and sub forums where you cannot post in th etop level forum like this example?

The structure I was wanting to setup is as follows;

Category = Clubs
 - Forum = Region 1 (no topics)
    - Sub Forum = Club Name
        - topics
    - sub Forum = Club Name
        - topics
 - Forum = Region 2 (no topics)
    - Sub Forum = Club Name
        - topics
    - sub Forum = Club Name
        - topics

Any assistance appreciated.

You would use the permission system to disable New Topics and Replies permissions within the top level forum but still give Access to the forum so the member can access the sub fourm where you do allow creating new topics and replies.

It use to be hidden if you did not have permission in that forum to create a new topic. However, ended up with lots of people asking where it was, by displaying it with a message they do not have permission to post topics in that forum you tend to find you don't have people asking why it's not there, or where is it.
