I've just set up the new 9.69 version.  Had to hard code the DB connection String, but gog a good test.  Then ran the DB setup Wizard for SQL Server (2005) and are now getting the following error when trying to access the site (both user and admin areas).  All permissions have been granted on the db.  What do you think went wrong?

You should try installing the software again, but this time do not hard code in the database settings and let the setup wizard do it's job so that the database can be created correctly.

The database is on another server.  When I entered the infomration through the wizard it just game me an error.  That's why I had to resort to a manual approach.

Having SQL Server on a different box is standard practice, we run 1000's of Web Wiz Forums installations on our own servers in this way.

You need to make sure that the database folder has read, write, and modify permissions so the setup wizard can write to files in this folder.

The page below has install documentation that should be followed to the letter:-
