Implementing a Private Group

   Is there a way to add a user to more than one private group in order to allow that user to participate in more than one private forum, but not all private forums?
Setting the generic access of a forum to Private Groups would allow any user in any private group to participate in said forum, wouldn't it?
How do you actually specify that a group is private? Are all groups other than the default ones, (i.e. the groups I create myself) considered private?
