I know what the loopback address is, but what does it mean when a moderator (like me) sees that as the IP address of the person who made a post?
I mean, I check a post for a "member of question" and find it's the loopback IP of 127.0.0.1 and all other IP addresses show up as fine in the forum.
Is this member using a proxy to thwart a ban?
We believe he's a person we banned who came back as a different person (sort of like reincarnation)

It's almost impossible to guarantee that with ASP you are reading in the correct IP address as the IP is read in from the browser header and things such as proxy servers, IP masking, etc. can change this IP address.

It maybe that the person is hiding their IP address or that the browser header is reporting that 127.0.0.1 is the originating IP.

The only way to know for sure would be to look in the websites log files as this will give a more accurate IP address for the user than what ASP can get from the browser Header.

Is there a way to make WWF to get the ip address from a more accurate way? I realized that some users has different ip address from the one that registered at the server log file, can't you read it from there?
