Topic: our forum down - DNS? Posted: 10 February 2010 at 12:49pm |

I'd start a ticket, but I am at work and don't have any of the info with me to get in and login! Looks like a SERIOUS DNS issue with theamcforum.com! No one can get to that main domain or anything else we have - it all redirects like the domain has been hijacked!
Is this a DNS server issue here or elsewhere? Sorry I don't have my login info or I'd start a real ticket, but I've been contacted at work, and sure enough, I can't even FIND our domain, let alone get to our forums.....
Thanks

Thanks for the verification.... Looks like it was a glitch in the settings on the service that holds the DNS settings for our domain. The domain is purchased by another forum moderator and sits at netsecure. There are settings in there to link the domain name to the DNS servers, in our case, they are ns.Web Wiz servers. The other fellow went to add a URL to the netsecure site for an UNRELATED domain, and it at that time cleared all the settings for the forum domain back to default! The names of the webwiz servers were gone. To compound things, I'm the "admin" of our forum, and knew how to fix it, AFTER we figured out what was wrong, but the password I had didn't work, AND I had to leave to get to the eye doctor as my glasses broke, and well, it is a long story, but the fellow who actually pays for the domain name got it figured out from one of my emails to him and life is again good! Whew!
