Hi all,
I have a WWF Access database at about 120 MB (after compacted and resized).
Using SSMA to convert this .mdb to SQL Server Express 2005, I get the new SQL database size of 125 MB. I just wonder, Is that normal?

Seems about right.

However, you need to watch SSMA as it often doesn't do a proper conversion. Usually when we use this you have to go through the database and remove any constraints that SSMA adds to the SQL Server database.

Thanks Bruce,
I had to manually remove the constraints.
Do you think Ms Access Upsizing Wizard is a better tool to convert?

They both have their pros and cons.

Here in the office when migrating a Web Wiz Forums Access version to our servers for customers we use SSMA to convert the Access database to SQL Server like you do and then manually go through and fix any errors.
