Hi,

I am planning to move the hosting server therefore I tried to migrate the SQL server DB to different server. I have successfully exported the DB and the forum code. But its giving me this error.

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while executing SQL query on database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_get_birthdays
File Name:- default.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement.

The exception is thrown on other pages as well "Could not continue scan with NOLOCK due to data movement."

Is it something I am missing while transferring.

Thanks.

i have figured it out. i performed the database check and repaired it. now it works. must be some problems while importing where the log file is not properly transferred or similar to that.

The only successful way to move a SQL Server database is either detach and reattach the database or create a backup (.bak file) and then restore it on the new server.

Many of the other methods of importing and exporting data often drop important parts of the database schema.
