Can anyone help explain what is the cause of this error. I converted all the data from 6 to version 7 and have all the threads and members, yet when I go to click on the thread it comes up "

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

/new fourm/forum/forum_posts.asp, line 321"

I am running version 6.34 on this server right now without issue, so I suspect something has gone wrong with the conversion? Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry for the redundant question, does it not make a difference that I am using the same server as 6.34 and have no problems with access? I figured if I can write to the severs now upgrading would have not been an issue.

Is the database now in the same location as you had it before? If it is in a different folder you might not have write access to that folder. Verify the old location, copy the db there and change your connection string.

Michael,

You nailed it....Thanks a ton! Now if I can push my luck here. When I converted my 6.34 to 7 I was not able to gain access to the admin through my normal methods. So I copied the mdb file down after adding another user and copied the salt and password into the file the reloaded it. I now can lod in, but every time I go to admin functions I get "

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126'

Include file not found

/forum/forum/admin/common.asp, line 278

The include file 'functions/functions_filters.asp' was not found. "

I am going nuts. I fix one thing and something else go wrong. I build Porsche motors not web boards! Any ideas on this one? Anyone want to make a dollar? LOL, man I am over my head here. I use to be Novell certified in the late 80s. Man things have changed. The guys wanted to upload files on to the site, so I thought I would be a good host and do so.. Wish I hadn't now
