I am having a problem with my forum. Every so often I have to delete posts in the databe, becouse it gets full.

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while writing to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_save_new_post_data
File Name:- new_post.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Could not allocate space for object 'tblThread' in database 'edirtforum' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full.

ADODB.Recordset error '800a0c93'

Operation is not allowed in this context.

This means that the database is full.

If you run the database server yourself you need to allocate more diskspace to the database, if you use a web host contact your web host regarding this issue and ask them about obtaining more diskspace for your database.

Also is the database being maintained as far as backups and maintenance plans? Your transaction logs could be taking up too much space.

The error message is for the primary file group being full rather than the transaction logs taking up to much space.

I stand corrected and humbled. Filegroups are only for data files. Log files exist oustside of the filegroup.
