I installed the RPC denial of service patch 2 days ago and everything is peachy since. I'd suggest that is the cure for this error message.

No it isn't.

There appears to be a lot of people experiencing this trouble now, I never had anything like this till I updated my forum to the 7.1v. My server logs indicate there have been between 16 and 20 people on the site every time it crashes in this way.(11 times in 3 weeks).

The answers so far have been entirely unacceptable about this problem, there is obviously a problem somewhere along the line, maybe when those who have paid for it start complaining we might start getting some decent answers.

Thanks,

I will pass this info to my IPS.

My system has entered this state with a lot fewer people logged on.

The forum software comes with no support, due to the fact that there is only one of me trying to run the entire site, anwser 300 emails aday, and write updates and new software for you lot!! so I don't appriciate you demanding anwsers form me.

As far as I can tell, this error has only started poping up in the last week. As the version available at present has not changed for quite a few months I would guess that it must be due to some update with IIS.

As my knowledge of IIS is very limited, I just intsall it and leave it in it's default settings, I don't know how to fix it. Also never having this error myself there is no way for me to test for it and try and find a solution.

So as this is free software and I already do all the hard work for you lot giving this software to you for free it would be nice for once if someone else got off there lazy arse and stopped demanding everything done for them for free and maybe actually helped find a solution to this problem.

But by demanding I should do somthing about this just makes me want to pull the plug on the whole thing, then no one will have any of my software and I'll just keep it for myself and have a much easier life.

Where i can get the RPC denial? since i'm having the same problem.

By the way i don't believe that this is because of the forum files.... it's something that relates to windowsxp update.

Why those who find this error don't try to enter to the control panel in their PC... then try to uninstall all windows updates (i'm talking here about XP).. then try to uninstall the IIS... then OPEN the drive where you installed the windowsxp... then open windows directory.. then open system32 directory.. then open "inetsrv" directory... delete every thing in this directory.. then reboot your PC..... now, reinstall the IIS.. and every thing would be ok...
