Inaccurate Post Count on home page

I downloaded the latest forum as of about a month ago, finally got it working on my site, and the first thing I noticed is that the main page post counts are innaccurate.

It appears that it's ONLY counting the number of posts in the first topic of each forum.  Am I doing something wrong?

The post counts are accurate once inside each forum topic, but not on the home page.

I tried to search for this among the other topics and did not find a solution, so I apologize if someone has already answered this question.
