HI EVERYONE,

I do have a problem which normally happens in my forum.

My forum version is : Web Wiz Forums version 7.0 beta 3

The problem is : some members try to log in the forum , but they can not. Therefore i have to go with them step by step to remove all cookies then make new passwords so they can log in successfully. However , some can not log in even if all cookies removed and the password changed !!

So , Can anyone tell me what is the reason and what is the solution of this problem??

Thanks all for ur time and help

1. They need to make sure security is set to allow cookies on their browser.

2. Beta versions, as it said when you downloaded it, should not be used on a live web site. 7.0 beta 3 contained many bugs which is why you maybe experiencing problems now.

Nearly all ASP based forums run using cookies so there is little that can be done there.

Your only option is to point people towards a page on how to use cookies on their browser, without cookies there is no way to login and track users, so you are stuck with this internet inherited problem.

I don't understand though why you need to change passwords, simply all people need to do is drop their security level on their browser to accept cookeis from that site, unless their cookie index has become corrupted which often happens in IE (wish MS would sortout this problem with IE). The only way to reset IE's cookie index is to firt delete all cached internet files and then delete all cookies in IE, this then resets IE's cookie index.

That depends on which problem the person is having. I have described two different problems and the solution for each.
