I get this when trying to access a password protected forum even though I enter the correct password.

Error Error

A security error has occurred with authentication.

Please ensure that all cookies are enabled on your web browser, you are not using a saved or cached copy of the page, and your Firewall/Proxy settings are not hiding or masking your IP address.

Also I get the pop up telling me I have new Private Messages and when I click OK it does not take me to the PM, the pop stays there no matter how many times I click OK and once I click Cancel it takes me to the PMs.

Other members can't change their profiles and get this error after making a post.

My advice would be to upgrade to the latest Forum version. 9.06 is a bit out of date

If you do intend to upgrade, then take these steps:
1. Download the latest version that matches your current specs
2. BACKUP all of your existing forum files just in case
3. If access version DO NOT upload a new database
4. Make sure you copy across your database connection details into your database_connection.asp file
5. DO NOT run the database upgrade tools if this is any version after version 9
6. Delete from your server the existing forum files (except your database)
7. Upload the new files and you should be good to go

Both the errors look like very bad server issues.

The first would appear that the server is not holding the ASP session and the second is due to the mail server not being able to be connected to.

Contact your web host regarding these issues.
