I think it would be great to have a link at the left side of the "show topics from the last week" dropdownbox. When clicking this link the forum only shows topics with new posts in. What do you all think?

You have that already, go to active topics and choose to show topics from the last week.

You will then get all the topics posted that have been posted in within the last week.
