I think there is a SQL version of the forum that you would need to use too.

I didn't do mine.. I had to switch to SQL, but had the host set it up for me.. it was WELL worth the money and they gave me a great deal!

but yes.. the SQL version runs loads better, faster, smoother! good luck to you!

Okay,
I think that I have done everything. I downloaded the SQL Version. I created a blank database. I modified the sql server script with my server name username and password. I ran the msqsl_serve_setup script. Now this might be a stupid question but, how do I knwo for sure that the forum IS using the sql server database?

Wayne

Well, if it is up and running, one way to do it is create a new useraccount, and then go into the SQL database and look in the tblAuthor table and see if the new user is in there.

And, yes, I am using the SQL Version.  We already use asp and SQL for the rest of our site, so when we added the forum, we selected an asp and SQL forum to integrate with the site.  We never messed with Access at all.

Oh Yea, Its in there. Thanks.

I am still figuring out how SQL works.... At some point I want to upgrade to the new beta of the forums oage. Does that mean that All I have to do is point the new config to the SQL server and I should be back to where I am now?
