one of my members seems to have ended up with a duplicate account one as a member with username 'Puddles' (all their details including email address) and the other account is listed as 'guests' with profile info completely blank.
All of their posts have their username but is listed as in the 'guests group' whereas they should be 'scurvy dog'. Admin shows both accounts as having posted the replies.
When the member posted in the forums they had already registered so shouldnt be 'guests' at all. I cant delete the 'guests' from admin panel. i have changed both member forum permissions to see if that would help but still no change.
Anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

The Guests account is a built in account that can not be deleted as it is required for the running of the software.

All users who are not registered run under the Guests account.

If the Guests accounts are shown as having made posts then either you have given permission on one of your forums for Guests to post, or when you delete a member any posts they have made need to be listed under an account so are listed under the Guests account.

If an ordinary user is listed as being part of the Guest Group then either their account is suspended or they have been moved to this Group. Edit their forum profile to fix the issue.
