I am setting up a WebWiz Forum (v. 9.50) and would like to know if it is possible to remove the "Prompt mode/basic Mode" drop box? I don't even know what it is for.
Also, is it possible to remove the "Enable BBcodes to format post"-function? It is too complex for my users!
Finally, I am not sure what editor I am actually using! But it is the standard one. The problem is, that nothing changes when I choose WYSIWYG editor on compared to when it's off. Why is that?

If you get the editor with 'Prompt Mode' on it then you are using the basic editor.
The WYSIWYG editor is much simpler to use as you don't need to use BBcodes as you can see the writing on bold, italic, etc. and view images within the editor.
If you are not seeing the WYSIWYG editor it could be that the web browser you are using doesn't have an RTE API.
Of the current browsers around only Apple's Saffari doesn't work in WYSIWYG mode, all other current browsers such as IE, Firefox, Mozilla, Netwscape, and Opera do work.
Also if you have only just enabled the WYSIWYG editor from the admin area you may find you also need to enable it by editing your forum profile as it can be switched off on a per user biases.

Ohh, that was it. I had to change my profile.
Now, the forum I am setting up is an upgrade from an older version. And as far as I can see, all the users have disabled the WYSIWYG editor as standard. Is there any (easy) way to change this in their profiles?

The WYSIWYG Editor has been available since 2001 and Web Wiz Forums was the first forum to have this. It should be enabled by default even in an upgrade, unless you previously had it disabled in your older version.

Where can I find the version number of my WWF? I cannot find this in the control panel.
Is there any way to completely disable users or a specific group of users from being able to post any kind of hyperlinks? I would like Admin users to be able to post links, but no other users. My WWF is beginning to get littered with links and I want to stop them before it gets any worse, thanks.

If you are running the latest 9.50 version then there is a check for updates tool in the admin area which not only will tell you what version you are running, but will connect live to our servers to tell you if an update is available and what new features are in that update.
You can not stop users from putting in hyperlinks, but you can edit the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file and change it so that links have the 'nofollow' attribute added to prevent search engines from following the links.
If you are having lots of spam hyperlinks then I would recommend that you do not allow Guests to post and have email activation of new accounts enabled. This stops most spam and also means that if you suspend a spammer they can not signup again using the same email address and you can also ban email domains.
