Hi,

I have recently migrated my 9.08 db from MS Access to MySQL using the instructions found on this forum (using Navicat for MySQL).

The problem is that now new users can not register themselves on my forum (www.w123forum.dk) They recieve the following error when trying to submit the registration form.

error '80020009'

/register.asp, line 581

Can anyone help me out?

kind regards
Jaron

This error generally happens when there is an issue w/ MEMO / TEXT / VARCHAR(>255)

Depending on the version of your MDAC driver, and the database you are connecting to, these columns can either (a) not show up at all, (b) only show up the first time they're called, or (c) cause 'Unspecified Error', 'Exception Occured' or 'Errors Occurred' runtime errors.

What have you migrated to/from ???

I have migrated from the MS Access version 9.05 to the MySQL version 9.08 using this tutorial and Navicat for MySQL: http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_posts.asp?TID=23582

mySQL is VERY different in database schema, data types, etc. from Access and SQL Server that I personally wouldn't even attept to try and migrate from Access to mySQL. Very few people are sucessful at this type of migration and those that do often complain about stability issues.

You should instead look at moving from Access to SQL Server. This is very easy to do and the 'Upsize' wizard in MS Access 2007 is really good and takes minutes to do a sucessful migration from Access to SQL Server.
