    Posted: 20 February 2008 at 10:08pm
hi

In my forum I am able to login as the admin user, however when I try logging in to the admin control panel I can't.

Can this password can be different?  I'm sure I managed to log on with my normal logging in before.

How can I retrieve it/reset it.  Can I decode it somewhere in the database.

Cheers

Mike

oh I forgot to mention I am using the Member API if this has any bearing on it.  And SQL server as the backend.

The default username and password pair is Administrator and letmein.

If you have changed it and email system is enabled in your forum, you can get a new password using the forget password link from the login screen.

If this does not work, however, you can reset the password manually by overwriting them.

Open a fresh database supplied with wwf download. Open tblAuthor. Copy USername, password and salt from the first row of tblAuthor and paste them to your site database.

Now your admin username and password should be Administrator and letmein.

When you use the Existing Member API the forum functions differently to that of a normal forum.

To log into the admin area you need to use the original built in admin account and log directly in the admin area by pointing your web browser at the 'admin.asp' page.
