To start I would like to say that I love Web Wiz forums.  Thank you for making a wonderful product.

OK, on to the problems I am having upgrading.

I did the wwforum.mdb database conversion.  Then I uploaded the new message forum to the web server.  I then had my hosting admin set up the location for the new database file, the DSN and the confi?

Now, when I log into my forum there's alot of weird problems.  Firstly, all the topic's have 0's until you go into them and then it shows the messages, etc.  Secondly, when I go under admin and try to do forum administration it shows none.  And third, when most functions I try to do other then loging in I get the following error:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e09'

Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

What does this mean?  Did I miss a step in setting up the upgrade?

Please assist.  I have tried everything I could think of.

Regards,
Jim

Why is it using JET and not MDB driver?  I need it for MDB.

The JET driver is the name of Microsofts driver for talking to Access databases.

The error is a permissions problem, you need to have write permissions on the database folder and file.

Until you resync post and topic counts from the admin area after the upgrade process they always show '0'

Thank you -boRg-.  I had my host admin modify the common.asp file to associate with DSN and MDB and not with JET.  So now I don't get the Database Engine errors.

I also resynced the post and topic counts through the admin area.

So slowly but surely i'm reassociating things.

After Upgrading - Questions/Problems:
-Does the administrator account's password default back to what it is by software default?  Because it was the default password when I first logged in.
-When I log in as my moderator account, I have no access to any topics or sections.  When I check using the Admin account I do see that my moderator account has moderator access.  But, the groupie accounts log in fine and have their "Groupie" access.

Basically, since the major upgrade from 6.5 to 7.6, I will have some janitorial work to do on the forum?  If so, what other things do I need to look at before I allow my members to log back in.

Thanks, and appologies.

Regards,
Jim

Update: I manually added the moderator group with full access to all the message topic groups.  That seemed to give my moderator account access to the board.  Weird.
