1. Yes

2. This is only for the super admin account

4. Same as version 8 it uses session variables, if the server is resetting then it will log you out

5. This was the same as version 8, it is very difficult to have the drop downs display in a different order.

1. Where? I've searched high and low. Does it auto-check when logging-in as admin? The control panel doesn't show the current version, so it would be helpful to find that link.
2. Thanks
4. Do you have a link or a FAQ to explain how to configure the server NOT to reset the session variables so frequently?
5. Thanks. I'll just edit the files myself.

Any news on #1?

I did some research on #4, and I think I got it worked-out.

1. There is already a link to check for updates which includes the present version number in the text description of the link. It's found in the admin section menu.

4. This sounds like a server issue, or you have another application on your site that resets the ASP session. When this happens all data stored in the web servers memory relating to read topics, login, active users, etc. is lost.

I'm really not trying to be a pest here, but the menu item just doesn't exist:

I found this in admin_menu.asp:
If (Request.QueryString("C") = "setup" OR Request.QueryString("C") = "admin") AND blnLCode = True
The version check won't appear unless this logic is true. Something here must be failing.

Just to prove to myself that I wasn't losing my mind, I installed a fresh instance of the 9.03 forum under a "test" host name and new database on SQL Express.

The version check and a few other useful tools appeared in the admin menu! Yeah!!

However, to make them go away, enter your registration information. Whoops...

Some options like this are removed when you enter the license key. The reason being is that when using the brand free option many web designers like to have all trace removed including these options. Don't ask me why.

I agree.  Seems strange. The Server Compatibility test is handy for those who have paid for the software as-well.

I'm good. Now that I know where to make the change, I'll be able to fix it for each version.
